The Alpha Psi Lambda Foundation has been dedicated to youth since 1967 giving out thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving young males in the Columbia and Midlands area.

With 34 years of service as a principal, educator, and administrator, the late Mr. Jeffcoat’s dedication to education and public service profoundly impacted countless students and the community. This scholarship celebrates his lifelong commitment to education and his groundbreaking achievements in both the educational and military fields.

Isaiah Joseph
Cardinal Newman High School Graduate
Health Care Administration and Aspiring Attorney
Isaiah Joseph is a graduating senior at Cardinal Newman School in Columbia, South Carolina, with a 5.01 GPA and an outstanding record of academic achievement, leadership, and service. His honors include the Frederick Douglass & Susan B. Anthony Award for Social Justice, College Board National Recognition Program recognition, and Outstanding Achievement in AP U.S. History. He has been active in Student Government, Black Student Union, Marching Band, Track & Field, Cross Country, and community service, earning the Silver & Gold Community Service Award.
Isaiah plans to study Health Care Administration before attending law school to become a health care attorney. He has been accepted to several universities, including The Ohio State University, Wake Forest University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Kentucky, The College of Wooster, and Denison University.

Future Cybersecurity Professional
Hayden is an 18-year-old graduate of White Knoll High School who completed his senior year with a 4.0 GPA while also earning college credits through dual enrollment at Midlands Technical College. A disciplined and driven student, he plans to attend Claflin University in South Carolina to pursue a degree in cybersecurity, with aspirations of protecting digital systems and individuals from cyber threats. Beyond academics, Hayden is committed to giving back through volunteer service in the Midlands area and enjoys playing basketball, which provides balance alongside his academic and community pursuits.

River Bluff High School Graduate
Future Cybersecurity Professional
Taj Crumpton is a graduating senior at River Bluff High School in Lexington, South Carolina, with a 4.2 GPA and a record of academic achievement, leadership, and creativity. His honors include the Columbia Urban League Young and Gifted Award, Rotary Student of the Month, Lexington Technology Center Student of the Quarter, Hampton University Honors Visitation Scholar recognition, and the Percussion Award at the White Knoll Silver Invitational Band Competition.
Taj has been active in the Dungeons and Dragons Club, Game Design Club, Percussion Ensemble, and Marching Band, while also volunteering with Harvest Hope Food Bank and other community outreach efforts.
He plans to pursue a career in cybersecurity as a penetration tester and has been accepted to Hampton University, where he will continue his academic and professional development.

He has been accepted to Johnson & Wales University, where he plans to study Baking and Pastry Arts with the goal of owning his own bakery, blending artistry with strong business acumen. A natural leader, Joshua is actively involved in school, church, and community service, and his passion for bringing joy to others through food is deeply rooted in his love for family, culture, and creativity.
